Improving literacy outcomes with OT

The first thing I bought when I found out I was pregnant was a book. Not for me, but for my baby. I couldn’t wait to read to them and share my love for reading. At my baby shower, friends and family gave me books instead of cards. By the time my daughter was born, the shelves in her room were full of books. I read to her every day. She quickly got into this routine, and when she was old enough, she started showing signs that she loved reading as much as I did. She would pick out her favorite books and she would “read” to me and my husband. I was thrilled and proud that I was raising a reader.
