AOTA's annual Hill Day

AOTA's Annual Hill Day is open to everyone - members and non-members, students and practitioners - interested in traveling to Washington, D.C. and raising their voice in support of their profession. Registration is required to attend. Registration is not limited to AOTA members, however, your AOTA membership ensures advocacy opportunities and activities are available in support of occupational therapy.

Students are encouraged to attend AOTA's Annual Hill Day. Occupational therapy students have been a backbone of AOTA's advocacy efforts. However, for planning and logistics purposes, we ask that academic programs limit their number to 20 students each. This number does not include faculty.

Note: each participant will need to register separately so that we have the information we need to identify their Members of Congress.

Registrants will be expected to arrange their own travel to Washington, D.C. to attend the event. Helpful details are included on our Transportation and Travel and Lodging pages. Congressional meetings may be scheduled for any time between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Please schedule your travel so that you are available during these times.

In addition to sending out background information and talking points, we will host a kick-off Zoom call the week before Hill Day.

Communications will be sent to registrants to prepare them for their participation. Please include HillDay@aota.org and advocacyday@advocacyassociates.com in your list of approved senders to ensure you receive these communications.

Registrants for AOTA's Annual Hill Day will be briefed on conducting an advocacy meeting, provided with all the resources they need to successfully advocate on the issues for the event, and will be supported by AOTA staff every step of the way.
