School-based mental health
The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (Pub. L. 117-159), signed into law in June 2022, was a response to the ongoing national mental health crisis. One goal of the bill was to examine how children received health services—especially mental health services—from both state and federal government health programs. Through this examination, the federal government would be able to identify and implement policies that could expand capacity and access to these crucial services.
