Zooming into occupational therapy telehealth use in schools

Telehealth, also known as telemedicine, involves the provision of health care services and the transmission of health care information using communication technologies. This service delivery method encompasses a diverse range of services, including telemedicine consultations, electronic transmission of medical records, health-focused mobile applications, and remote patient monitoring. Telehealth was created to enhance the accessibility of health care services, particularly for individuals residing in underserved, rural, and remote regions, by minimizing the necessity for in-person visits. It also enhances the quality of health care delivery by enabling more timely interaction between patients and their providers while facilitating continuous monitoring of the health and well-being of patients (Health Resources & Services Administration, 2025).
