School sensory integration: A framework for linking common core state standards

Pediatric occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) often work in school settings to support many areas of academic participation, including motor skills, self-regulation, executive functioning, and sensory processing. Sensory integration and processing (SI/SP) is one area in which school personnel look to the expertise and guidance of OTPs, who help design evidence-based sensory interventions to support students in the school setting.
