Near-peer facilitation maximizes collaborative learning

Simulation is widely accepted in occupational therapy education to teach clinical skills and provide an alternative Level I fieldwork experience (Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education, 2018; Bethea et al., 2014). Simulation is an umbrella term for a learning modality that artificially represents the real world to promote clinical knowledge, skills, and attitudes through deliberate practice rather than an apprentice style of learning (Foronda et al., 2020). Simulation includes the clinical scenario followed by debriefing.
