Songs for learning: Using music to address ADLs for adults with cognitive impairments

When occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) look at interventions with people who have cognitive impairments, we must consider the best way to improve and maintain occupational performance within the limitations their impairments pose. In this article, cognitive impairments can indicate challenges because of an intellectual disability, brain injury, or dementia. The innovative approach highlighted here involves an individual with an intellectual disability whose cognitive limitations have progressed as they have aged.
