F.E.E.D.E.R.: Forging equity by encouraging diversity and encompassing representation
During a walk across campus one afternoon, a professor and I began discussing the lack of representation in our program. We both shared a desire to improve this, and one comment stayed with me: “We can only admit those who apply.” While true, that statement left me wondering: “Who is applying? Who is not? And what barriers prevent certain groups from even considering occupational therapy as a career?” Those questions became the spark for F.E.E.D.E.R.: Forging Equity by Encouraging Diversity and Encompassing Representation.
