Social prescribing

My personal story begins with how I was introduced to an approach that affects health and well-being. My daughter was 8 years old and dealing with a major life stressor when I began receiving frequent phone calls from her school with complaints about her aggressive behavior. I contacted the school and had her enrolled in weekly therapy. She formed a great relationship with her therapist, but I continued to receive complaints from the school. I contacted our health care provider, and they enrolled her in weekly group therapy sessions. The calls from her school continued. I took her to weekly soccer practice and a meditation group. We even read books about managing challenging emotions, but nothing seemed to be working.
