Occupational therapy’s emerging role in ostomy care: A program development guide

Expanding on the article by Morales and Rider in the October 2021 issue of OT Practice in addition to the work contributed by pioneers in the realm of occupational therapy and ostomy care, such as Charlotte Foley (2021), this article aims to draw attention to the severe lack of ostomy care educators and providers. Additionally, the article describes a methodology for building competent, occupation-focused education programs for clients with ostomies, also known as ostomates, in a variety of settings.
