So, I ordered myself a wheelchair: OT reminders after several decades
It all started about 10 months pre-pandemic (how many people measure time like that these days?). I thought, “I have pinkeye,” which is not an uncommon event when you work with children. During the next couple of days, a rash developed on my face. It turned out to be shingles! I was just past the minimum age to qualify for the shingles vaccine, and had been put on a waitlist to receive it. When the shingles started to spread to multiple dermatomes, my ophthalmologist recommended that I go to the emergency room—where I was admitted into a hospital isolation room.
