Advanced Certification application and fees

Please note before applying:

As of June 9, 2026: Recertification operations have resumed and applications will be processed in the order of receipt. We anticipate that processing will take approximately seven to ten business days, with a six-month grace period following the expiration of your certification.

If your application is in the queue, you may receive an invoice for payment from customerservice@aota.org. Receiving an invoice does not indicate any problem with your application.

If you need to submit a new application, please do so using the existing interface.

Application Fee: $575 (AOTA members)/$700 (non-members)

Recertification Fee: (5 years): $280 (AOTA members)/$415 (non-members) 

Timeline

The Advanced Certification exams are offered on a continuous/on-demand schedule at PSI Testing Centers across the United States and in Puerto Rico. When you are ready to take the exam, complete the online application. Once your application has been approved (typically within 10 business days), you will receive instructions on how to schedule your exam with PSI Services.

You will have 90 days from your date of approval to register and take your exam.
