Intraprofessional international collaboration: Strengthening occupational therapy practice across the globe

In modern times, when patients often present with multiple comorbidities and chronic diseases, a collaborative approach to treatment has become more imperative. To foster teamwork, interprofessional education (IPE) is vital for equipping health care providers with essential skills and promoting an understanding of collaborative practice (Heip et al., 2020; Ho et al., 2022; Medina-Córdoba et al., 2023). This raises a relevant question: Is it just IPE and collaboration, as suggested by Spaulding et al. (2021), that helps achieve better patient outcomes, or could intraprofessional and international collaboration in education also help health care students be better prepared for the future, specifically in occupational therapy?
