From clinic to community: The journey to founding imprint hope in Uganda

In 2016, I stepped off a plane in Uganda with a background in pediatric occupational therapy and a growing conviction that my clinical training could—and should—extend beyond the walls of a traditional therapy setting. What I encountered would profoundly reshape my understanding of occupational therapy practice, disability, and the role of family and community in rehabilitation. That experience ultimately led to the founding of Imprint Hope, a nonprofit organization committed to supporting children with disabilities and their families through holistic, relationship-centered care.
