Application of STEAM into pediatric occupational therapy interventions

My professional journey into Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education came out of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a practicing outpatient pediatric occupational therapist (OT) in March 2020, I questioned how I was going to create meaningful, just-right challenges for my young clients through a virtual platform. At that time, my caseload consisted of children mostly younger than 8 years of age who thrived with highly interactive intervention. In my pursuit of new and exciting interventions, I stumbled on online resources from STEAM educators, and my approach to pediatric intervention was forever positively changed.
