White noise to support children with ADHD

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a chronic disorder associated with challenges to academic success such as inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Recent research looks at white noise as a nonpharmacological approach to increasing focus and attention on school tasks and reducing off-task behavior. Occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) can support students’ performance in schools through this intervention.
