Incorporating hippotherapy in the treatment of pediatric populations

Hippotherapy is a therapeutic tool involving the skilled grading of a horse's movement to provide a patient with the just-right challenge and to support functional outcomes. Hippotherapy may be used by an occupational therapy practitioner (OTP), physical therapist (PT), or speech-language pathologist (SLP). Current research supports the use of hippotherapy as a therapeutic intervention tool for various populations.
