Competency in pediatrics-A telehealth example

Educating future practitioners with telehealth knowledge and skills has become increasingly critical as more and more therapists integrate telehealth visits as a routine part of intervention. An increasing number of states join the Occupational Therapy Licensure Compact each month, with the total at more than half the states at press time (Occupational Therapy Licensure Compact, 2023). New occupational therapy virtual practice settings are developing frequently as seen in the literature and in fieldwork and capstone placement opportunities. This article aims to share an exemplary project on how one entry-level occupational therapy doctoral pediatric course competency was designed to support current practice trends. An additional aim is to share a model that other educators can use, including the methods and rubrics for competency.
