An introduction to AOTA’s Knowledge Translation Toolkit

Knowledge translation is a broad term often used to describe the process of integrating research findings into routine practice. The ultimate goal of the knowledge translation process is to improve the quality of services provided to various client populations (Barwick et al., 2020). Given that research findings published in peer-reviewed journal articles do not always apply to occupational therapy clients, knowledge translation is quite complex and challenging, and can delay the speed at which practitioners are able to deliver evidence-based care across practice settings.
