The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, n.d.) "Learn the Signs. Act Early." program encourages parents and providers to learn the signs of healthy development, monitor every child's early development, and take action when there is a concern. Developmental monitoring combined with developmental screening is the best way to identify children with a developmental delay (Barger et al., 2018).
