AOTA invites occupational therapy practitioners, educators, researchers, innovators, assistive technology professionals, entrepreneurs, and emerging leaders to submit proposals for the Technology & Innovation in Occupational Therapy Specialty Conference. This two-day virtual conference will explore practical applications of technology, innovation, assistive technology, digital health, and emerging practice solutions that improve outcomes and expand access to occupational therapy services. The conference will feature 10 educational sessions and opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and networking.

Preference will be given to proposals that help practitioners understand how to successfully implement technology and innovation in practice settings.

Early to Mid-February 2027: Everyone who submits a completed proposal will be contacted via email with the status of their submission's acceptance status.

AOTA is seeking volunteers to serve as reviewers for the Technology & Innovation in Occupational Therapy Specialty Conference. Reviewers will help evaluate submissions and contribute to the development of a high-quality conference program focused on technology, innovation, assistive technology, digital health, and emerging practice opportunities.
Reviewer Requirements
- All reviewers must have a minimum of 5 years of occupational therapy or occupational therapy assistant experience.
- Experience in technology, assistive technology, telehealth, digital health, innovation, entrepreneurship, emerging practice, research, or related advanced practice areas is preferred.
- Based on reviewer participation, each reviewer will be assigned approximately 10–15 proposals for review.
- Reviewers must complete all assigned reviews within the designated review period.
- Reviewers must maintain confidentiality throughout the review process.
Please ensure your AOTA profile and professional credentials are current prior to volunteering as a reviewer.
Deadline to sign up as a reviewer: November 10, 2026, 11:59 pm PT
November 19-December 15, 2026: Reviewers will review submitted proposals.
