This presentation will highlight the unique practice setting of vocational rehabilitation (VR) and what VR can provide for clients also served by OTPs.
The discussion will highlight the established role of OTPs in the vocational rehabilitation team in Virginia, and will also reference their inclusion in the VR systems of Michigan, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Ohio.
Beyond traditional services such as assistive technology, worksite modification, and ergonomics, the presentation will introduce the emerging employment needs of a neurodiverse population.
We will examine how OTPs in Virginia's vocational rehabilitation agency are addressing key factors like self-regulation and lifestyle to improve employment outcomes.
Case studies will be used to illustrate the tangible impact of these services on work performance. The session will conclude with an open forum for attendees to have their questions about vocational rehabilitation answered.
