Bias, Ethics, and Accountability in Artificial Intelligence
The Practice Engagement and DEIJAB Integration & Ethics departments are excited to present the May Momentum Meetup focusing on Bias, Ethics, and Accountability in Artificial Intelligence on May 29, 6-7:30 p.m., ET.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly prevalent across health care, including in occupational therapy. As we welcome innovation, we must also address any ethical implications. Join us for a timely Momentum Meetup that explores the intersection of bias, ethics, and accountability in AI with guests from the AOTA Ethics Commission. During the meetup, we will discuss how AI can both support and challenge equity in practice.
Led by members of the AOTA Ethics Commission, this conversation will highlight:
- Ethical considerations and types of bias present in AI systems.
- How AI-driven tools potentially impact equity and decision-making in healthcare and occupational therapy.
- Strategies for promoting accountability and ethical AI use in professional practice.
- The importance of accountability and advocacy in shaping responsible tech use and integrating AI responsibility.
Whether you're curious, cautious, or already engaging with AI in your practice, we invite you to join the conversation.
