Occupational Therapy's Role in Low Vision Rehabilitation

This presentation will review low vision/blindness and common vision conditions and describe the role of low vision rehabilitation in outpatient OT. We will explore ways in which community-based OT’s can implement low vision rehabilitation concepts to improve safety and independence for clients with low vision.
Kathryn Marxen-Simonson, MSOT, OTR/L, CLVT, is an occupational therapist who specializes in low vision. She works for the Casey Eye Institute associated with the Oregon Health Sciences University Evelyn L. Jones Low-Vision Rehabilitation Center.
