Community Update: AOTA CEO Search

As the healthcare landscape continues to change, the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) remains dedicated to advancing the occupational therapy profession and delivering an exceptional member experience. We share your commitment to the profession and believe that strong leadership is essential to serving our members and supporting the future of occupational therapy. With that goal in mind, the AOTA Board of Directors convened an ad hoc committee to guide the search for the Association’s next Chief Executive Officer. The AOTA CEO Search Ad Hoc Committee will establish a search timeline and process, as well as identify key competencies for the next CEO.

The Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the AOTA Board of Directors, which retains responsibility for final decisions and their implementation. The nine-member committee is composed of occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and community members representing a range of professional backgrounds and perspectives.

The ad hoc committee will provide an update and recommendations to the Board of Directors at AOTA’s October board meeting, which AOTA members can register to attend. The Board of Directors will continue to use board meeting open sessions to keep the AOTA community informed as the process unfolds.
