This area should be addressed during the early years when the child is a passenger in a car seat and continues as the child ages when pedestrian and bicycle safety become concerns. Practitioners can help to identify skills necessary for all emerging teen drivers such as adequate coordination and emotional regulation and refer onto driver experts as appropriate.
