Pediatric Program Manager, Professional Affairs Division, American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)

In her capacity as pediatric program manager in the Professional Affairs Division for AOTA, Schefkind is responsible for various Association and National Office activities related to occupational therapy practice. She also represents AOTA when collaborating with other organizations, providing clinical assistance with practice-based inquiries from occupational therapy practitioners and others working with children and youth.
Schefkind earned her undergraduate occupational therapy degree from Tufts University, her Master’s in occupational therapy degree from Temple University, and her doctorate from Thomas Jefferson University.
For more than 25 years, Schefkind has provided occupational therapy services across the life course in settings that include schools, clinics, homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. She held a variety of clinical and administrative positions before joining AOTA, including director of occupational therapy at Bryn Mawr Hospital and director of early childhood programs at Imagination Stage, a Bethesda, Maryland, nonprofit arts organization that provides theater productions and classes to children with and without disabilities.
