Jan Davis, MS, OTR/L is an internationally recognized leader in developing high-quality multimedia education programs for therapists, educators, families, and caregivers to significantly improve the quality of life in stroke survivors. Her teaching approach is highly effective, making complex principles easy to understand and providing practical, functional treatment ideas in stroke rehabilitation.
Davis is a well-known and respected speaker at national and international conferences for occupational therapists and has presented at the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, the American Society of NeuroRehabilitation, and the American Academy of Neurology.
Her written work for stroke survivors includes articles in the American Heart Association’s Stroke Connection magazine (where she served on the review panel) and the National Stroke Association’s Stroke Smart magazine.
Davis has also published in Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation, OT Practice, and the textbook Occupational Therapy Practice Skills for Physical Dysfunction. More than 250 colleges and universities have included her StrokeHelp® multimedia programs (the first of their kind combining texts with treatment videos of actual stroke survivors and therapists) in their curriculum.
Davis received her BS in occupational therapy from the University of Puget Sound and MS in health and rehabilitation science from the University of Pittsburgh. She received her specialty training in stroke rehabilitation while working as director of occupational therapy at the Klinik Valens in Switzerland. Davis founded International Clinical Educators, Inc. in 1983; StrokeHelp.com in 1996; and ICELearningCenter.com in 2009.
