The Representative Assembly (RA) met online from October 19 to October 25, 2016. The original consent agenda contained, as attachments to the report from the Bylaws, Policies, and Procedures Committee (BPPC), a number of revised Job Descriptions (JDs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and two revised policies related to licensure, as well as a new position paper from the Commission on Continuing Competence and Professional Development (CCCPD): “Continuing Professional Development in Occupational Therapy.” At the request of an RA member, this document was removed from the consent agenda and a separate discussion thread was initiated. The action items remaining on the consent agenda and voted for adoption by the RA included: the RA SOPs, Ethics Commission SOP, Sergeant at Arms JD, Consumer Member JD, Recorder JD, RA Speaker JD, RA Vice Speaker JD, Commission on Practice (COP) SOP, Policy E.12 Licensure Portability, and Policy E.9 Licensure. The policy on Licensure Portability is new, drafted as an outgrowth of the RA ad hoc committee addressing this issue over the past year. It reflects the increasing interest in telehealth and other services delivered remotely or across state lines and efforts to address current barriers to this process. The new position paper on continuing professional development, an action item from the CCCPD report, was also adopted by the RA.
