Caseload to Workload

Transforming caseload to workload is an important topic because it promotes utilizing one’s full scope of practice in schools, including prevention, promotion as well as intervention strategies. Workload approaches highlight an educational focus, rather than a medical model to service delivery. Conducting a workload analysis can also be helpful when addressing challenges associated with personnel shortages and when justifying the need for additional occupational therapy positions. This area includes tools such as joint association papers and FAQS to support language and actions associated with a workload approach.
