The SISIS offers leadership, resources, and information, ensuring that AOTA members are current in the research and development of sensory integration theory, assessment, and intervention as applied in occupational therapy practice.
This widely used occupational therapy frame of reference focuses on the neurobiological, sensory, and praxis foundations of occupation and play. It is applied to enrich the lives of individuals with a variety of disabilities across the lifespan.
Members of the SISIS have the opportunity to share resources and evidence that guide clinical reasoning in providing a carefully selected combination of services in various settings that include the home, school, hospital, and community, as well as more traditional clinic environments.
To join SISIS, contact AOTA Membership at 301-652-2682, ext. 2769 or toll-free at 1-800-SAY-AOTA (1-800-729-2682).
