Educational Sessions

The AOTA Annual Conference & Expo features offerings on a multitude of topics geared to various experience levels and presented in different degrees of depth. Select from more than 900 educational sessions that suit your interests and meet your needs. There is so much to choose from to expand your horizons!

Conference Program Planner

You can build your Conference itinerary prior to arriving in Baltimore, by using the Program Planner. The Program Planner can be used to search the program, view session descriptions, learning objectives and building and updating your itinerary. You will need to create a login and password in order to save your itinerary. Instructional videos will be available in the coming months.

In the Search box, enter session number, topic category, session type, or date. In addition, you can use Advanced Search by using a keyword to find a session. All sessions will be listed in the print or online Program Announcement. To add a session, place a check mark in the box by clicking on it and repeat with each selected session. Click on the “Itinerary” icon to view your schedule.

No advance registration is required. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Practice session levels are highlighted throughout the Conference Program Announcement to help attendees identify appropriate sessions for their experience level.

  • Introductory information is geared to practitioners with little or no knowledge of the subject matter.
  • Intermediate information is geared to practitioners with a general working knowledge of current practice trends and literature related to the subject matter.
  • Advanced information is geared to practitioners with a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter based on current theories and standards of practice as well as current literature and research.

AOTA Sessions

Sessions designated (AOTA) have been designed to address today’s hottest topics, featuring invited speakers or AOTA staff. Be sure to check out sessions on advocacy, evidence-based practice, reimbursement, scope of practice, the Centennial Vision, and many more.

ADED Sessions

These sessions have been approved by Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED) for contact hours toward Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) renewal.

Tech Day Sessions

Attend one or all 3 highly popular Tech Day sessions. Attendees will benefit from hands-on learning on a variety of topics at multiple work stations. Up to 10 different stations will be set up during each of three 1½-hour sessions. New this year—an Appy Hour!
