Policy Analyst/Reimbursement & Payment

Do you have a knack for policy analysis and debate? Are you good with words and numbers? 

If so, the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) has an immediate opening for an individual interested in a policy career who will be responsible for developing and implementing new payment mechanisms. This position will be the organizational liaison to the system that develops the codes for reimbursement for professional health services.

AOTA, a national health care professional association located in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area, seeks a Coding & Payment Policy Specialist in our Public Affairs group. This position will have critical responsibilities for the Association’s activities in coding and reimbursement, supportive analysis and advocacy, and communication to members.  This position is primarily responsible for providing analytical support related to public and/or private payment policies, particularly in relation to the Common Procedural Terminology (CPT©) as published by the American Medical Association (AMA) and activities of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Requirements: BA/BS + 3-5 years of related experience. Advanced degree in law, health policy, or public or health administration preferred but not required.  Technical work requires high level of computer analysis.  Must possess excellent writing skills, project management, and strategic thinking ability. Strong interpersonal/communication skills are also required.
