The call for papers deadline is extended to January 27, 2015!

AOTA and OTCAS invite educators, scholars, post professional graduate students and clinicians who share the common vision of enhanced understanding of teaching and learning in occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant degree programs to submit a proposal to present at the Education Summit 2015 to be held in Denver, Colorado on October 17 - 18. Proposals can be submitted at any time from December 1, 2014 until midnight (Pacific time) January 27, 2015.

The three presentation tracks have been identified for the summit are:

    • Pedagogy & Instructional Design (Theoretical Approaches and methods for teaching/learning)
    • Building Capacity/Faculty Development and Resources
    • Learner Characteristics & Competencies in the Educational and Clinical Environments (Professionalization, Socialization)

You are encouraged to submit proposals that include these themes within the practice of occupational therapy education (entry, post professional and specialty workshops). Priority will be given to proposals that use data/evidence to formulate problem statements and analyze outcomes, and that include recommendations for future work.

For each proposal submitted, you will be asked to choose from one of the following session types:

    • Paper (20 minutes) or
    • Poster

Proposals will be peer reviewed from February 5 through March 2, 2015 and final selections will be made in early spring. This peer review is based solely on the content and quality of the written proposal (i.e., the title, content focus, learning objectives, abstract and synopsis, references, and completeness of the submission). Neither names nor affiliations are provided to the reviewers. All submissions are given equal opportunity, and names of both submitters and reviewers remain anonymous. Written notification of proposal acceptance or non acceptance will be sent in early spring.
