CMS Transmittal Clarifies Need to Report Surety Bond Changes to NSC
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued guidance on surety bonds on March 26, 2010. See Medicare Transmittal 322 on Reporting Changes in Surety Bonds.
A MedLearn Matters article (MM6854) also outlines scenarios in which suppliers of durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies are required to report certain surety bond changes to the National Supplier Clearinghouse.
