CMS Announces 2012 Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0 National Conference – March 2012 – St. Louis, Missouri
CMS recently announced that the 2012 Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0 National Conference will be held in St. Louis, Missouri in March 2012. The conference will actually be held twice.

Below is information from the CMS MDS 3.0 Training Conference Information Web site as well as a link to the page to register for the conference. There is no fee to attend the conference, but participants are responsible for their own travel costs.
March 2012 MDS 3.0 National Conference
The 2012 MDS National Conference is a 2-day conference that will be held twice. One on March 6 to 7 and repeated on March 8 to 9, 2012, at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch in St. Louis, MO.

This conference is open to all long-term care providers, provider associations, consultants, vendors, and organizations that support quality care in the nation's nursing home facilities. The goal of this conference is to address changes to the MDS 3.0 and MDS-related activities:
• MDS 3.0 changes implemented in October 2011
• MDS 3.0 changes for April 2012
o Planned/unplanned discharge assessments
o Additional topics––TBD
• Care area assessments and the care planning process
• Discharge planning as related to Section Q
• Therapy Assessment Changes
Conference registration will begin November 14, 2011, and close on December 30, 2011. A block of hotel rooms at the government rate has been arranged for conference participants. Instructions for reserving a room within this block will be provided to confirmed participants.
