Presenter Bios

Jennifer Bogenrief, Esq. is senior regulatory analyst in AOTA’s Reimbursement and Regulatory Policy Department. Jennifer monitors Medicare policy and writes comment letters on health care policy issues that affect access to and payment for occupational therapy services. In addition, she participates in meetings with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and answers member questions concerning payment policies and interpretation of those policies. She has worked on health policy issues for the past 7 years. Before joining AOTA a year ago, Jennifer was the director of government affairs with the Health Industry Distributors Association. Prior to that, she was regulatory counsel at Stateside Associates, a state government relations firm, where she helped establish the firm’s regulatory health care policy team. Jennifer holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Creighton University and a J.D. from Creighton University School of Law.

Tim Nanof, MSW, is AOTA’s federal affairs manager. He has been a licensed social worker for the past 9 years. Before coming to AOTA, Tim did some lobbying on health care issues for the Service Employees International Union, focusing mainly on Medicaid and nursing issues. Prior to that, he was program manager for Home Care Partners, Inc., a nonprofit home care agency focusing on low-income seniors and people with disabilities in the greater Washington, DC area. His current responsibilities include lobbying Congress and federal agencies on occupational therapy interests in the areas of education, Medicaid, home health, and mental health.
