Presenter Bio

Miriam Monahan, MS, OTR, CDRS, CDI is an occupational therapist, a certified driving rehabilitation specialist, and a driving school instructor in Vermont. She currently is heading up the Driver Rehabilitation Program at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Williston. She lectures locally and nationally on the topic of driver rehabilitation to medical professionals, law enforcement officials, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) committees, and others. Monahan has served as public relations chair for the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED), and has participated on NHTSA-funded projects to educate law enforcement personnel about the impact of medical conditions on driving and guidelines for state Departments of Motor Vehicles. In 2005, she received the Clinical Practice Award from the Vermont Occupational Therapy Association.

Monahan is co-author of the Community Mobility Part I CEonCD,รค Creating Successful Transitions to Community Mobility Independence for Adolescents: Addressing the Needs of Students With Cognitive, Social, and Behavioral Limitations, the course recommended to participants prior to taking this course. In addition, she has co-authored an occupational therapy textbook chapter on driver rehabilitation services.
