Commission on Continuing Competence and Professional Development
The CCCPD is a body of the AOTA Representative Assembly (RA) and develops and maintains the Standards for Continuing Competence. The CCCPD provides guidelines and tools that support the ongoing professional development of practitioners, including the AOTA Professional Development Tool (PDT). It is also the body that researches the feasibility of developing Board or Specialty certifications which, if approved by the RA, are then implemented by the Board for Advanced and Specialty Certification (BASC).
Composition: The CCCPD is composed of at least 5 members who serve 3-year terms with a maximum of 2 consecutive terms. The chairperson is elected and appoints the remaining members to the commission.
Time Commitment: The CCCPD meets face-to-face once a year and has conference calls at least once each month, as well as independent work responsibilities between meetings.
