AOTA’s Evidence-Based Practice Guidelines Win Award

The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) has received a 2012 Power of A Silver Award from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). ASAE’s Power of A Awards is the premier program honoring associations that engage in activities and initiatives that benefit America and the world.

“The Guidelines were developed as a way to ensure that occupational therapy practitioners and external audiences have access to the best available evidence and recommendations from clinical experts,” said Deborah Lieberman, MHSA, OTR/L, FAOTA, AOTA’s Evidence-Based program director. “This helps ensure that occupational therapy practice is scientific and evidence-based.”

“AOTA’s Evidence-Based Practice Guidelines demonstrate how associations continue to make meaningful contributions to their communities and society,” said P. Allen Haney, chair of The Power of A Awards Judging Committee. “Through the dedication of association professionals and association members across the country and around the world, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of others.”

A total of 14 Power of A Silver Awards were bestowed to 13 associations in 2012.
