The WISIS focuses on the unique role of occupational therapy in assisting people to engage and reengage in work across the lifespan. The section is dedicated to understanding the relationship of work to human development, motivation, and performance. The WPSIS provides a forum for networking with peers and other professionals, a means to access clinical resources, and a way to share emerging service delivery systems.
The WISIS supports occupational therapy practice in a wide variety of settings, including traditional rehabilitation; occupational health; work rehabilitation (work hardening, work conditioning); ergonomics; injury prevention; wellness; mental health; gerontology; and physical or developmental disability.
The section provides support for members via advocacy and by providing information regarding practice, research, payment systems, recruitment and retention, regulatory standards, and legislative issues.
