The "Glass of Water"

The question has been asked since the beginning of time.
“Is the glass half full or half empty?”
Occupational therapy practitioners have the answer: It’s full when client and practitioner work together in harmony to ensure that clients are doing their best no matter what challenges they face.
The idea of the glass is about “full” on many levels. By taking the full picture into account—a person’s psychological, physical, emotional, and social make-up—occupational therapy assists people in achieving their goals, functioning at the highest possible level, concentrating on what matters most to them, maintaining or rebuilding their independence, and participating in the everyday activities that they need to do or that simply make life worth living.
Occupational therapy works to get beyond disability or limitations, creating ways for individuals to live life to its fullest no matter what.
We encourage you to adopt “Living Life To Its Fullest”™ as a simple yet powerful and effective messaging tool to help accomplish our goal of communicating the essence of our wonderful profession to the health care and consumer worlds.
