Assistance Needed for OT Students Affected by Hurricane Ike
For 40 years, the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) has thrived on the island of Galveston, Texas. Since its inception under the leadership of Robert K. Bing, UTMB has prepared occupational therapy practitioners to enable people throughout Texas and beyond to reclaim their lives following significant loss and disruption to daily habits and routines.
Now occupational therapy students are in need of help to reclaim their own lives. On September 12, 2008, Hurricane Ike devastated much of the island—leaving students without housing, textbooks, and personal belongings.
If you would like to assist the students you may contribute by calling UTMB at 409-747-0665, or 409-772-3949 to make a credit card donation. Please specify that the donation is for occupational therapy students.
Donations can also be mailed to "OT Student Hurricane Recovery Fund," Office of University Development, 301 University Drive, Galveston, TX 77555.
