CE WebFind: AOTA’s Searchable Database of Approved CE Providers
CE WebFind is a searchable database of live and distance learning continuing education activities offered by AOTA and AOTA Approved Providers. OT practitioners can use this tool to easily locate CE that meets their needs from CE providers that meet Approved Provider Program standards.
CE WebFind can help you to find courses that meet your educational needs by allowing you to search by
- Provider
- Topic
- Date(s)
- Location
- Type of activity (i.e. live, interactive distance learning, or independent distance learning)
- Content Level (i.e. Entry-level to Advanced)
CE WebFind search results include courses that Approved Providers have chosen to make available to OT practitioners. Courses that are offered exclusively to their own employees or other internal audiences are not listed on CE WebFind. Providers assign AOTA CEUs only to courses that are relevant to OT.
Approved Providers have gone through a rigorous application and review process and meet the high standards of the Approved Provider Program. There are currently 175 Approved Providers and the number continues to grow as qualified applicants meet those standards.
The National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and more than half of the states that have continuing competence requirements for license renewal recognize AOTA Approved Providers in their renewal requirements. AOTA members can consult the CE Database in the licensure section of the AOTA Web site or contact their state licensure board for their most current regulations.
While live CE activities are still the most popular mode of CE, distance learning options, including online courses, CD-ROMs, self paced clinical courses/self studies, or CE articles are growing in popularity.
Distance learning options allow you to learn at your own pace, eliminate travel expenses and time away from work, provide access to authors and topics that may not be available to learners locally, and may include audiovisual components such as video clips or pictures that further demonstrate the subject matter.
