Members Selected for AOTA Procedural and Organizational Change Ad Hoc Committee
This newly created committee originated from the substitute motion put forward at the spring 2010 Representative Assembly (RA) meeting in Orlando, in response to the defeated motion related to the Participation Ad Hoc Committee recommendations. The 2010 charge for this ad hoc committee is to explore opportunities for both procedural and organizational changes at AOTA. Feedback will be provided to the AOTA membership along with recommended actions to the spring 2011 RA.
The motion specified that the committee be composed of: Commission chairpersons (4), the Special Interest Section Council (SISC) chairperson, the RA speaker, an RA member, a member from the original Participation Ad Hoc Committee, two members at large, a member of the Affiliated State Association Presidents (ASAP), an Assembly of Student Delegates (ASD) Steering Committee member, an OTA member, an officer of the Association, and the Procedural and Organizational Change Ad Hoc Committee chairperson. The motion specified that the AOTA president and RA speaker jointly appoint those members who were not identified by their existing leadership role (e.g., members vs. chairpersons).
RA Speaker Yvonne Randall and AOTA President Florence Clark had several thoughtful discussions before finalizing the individual members of this ad hoc committee, and the following diverse group of exceptional people were asked to participate:
