Colorado Begins Process to Register Occupational Therapists-DORA sets January 1, 2009 Deadline
On May 14, 2008, Colorado Governor Bill Ritter signed legislation that will require all occupational therapists in the state to verify that they have met professional education, experience, and examination requirements through registration with the state’s Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). The law becomes effective January 1, 2009, and registration is required to practice after that date.
DORA is now accepting registration applications. If you are an occupational therapist in Colorado, AOTA and the Occupational Therapy Association of Colorado (OTAC) recommend that you begin the registration process as soon as possible.
