Call for Representative Assembly Motions
Deadline for Submissions: November 20, 2009
The American Occupational Therapy Association’s (AOTA’s) Representative Assembly (RA) is your link to action in your professional association. It is the “Congress of AOTA” that establishes policy for the Association and deliberates on individual members’ or member groups’ requests for action on issues of the profession, primarily in the form of motions. It also considers motions from bodies of the Assembly and Board and ad hoc committees.
It is now time for YOU, the members of AOTA, to become active participants in your “Congress.” Please give thought to the issues and draft motions that you would like to be considered by the AOTA RA in Orlando, Florida, April 29 through May 2, 2010.
Specific instructions on how to write motions can be found on the AOTA Web site. Go to the Leadership & Governance section from the AOTA home page, then Representative Assembly.
Do not hesitate to contact any of the RA officials or your representative(s) for advice on whether your idea should be a motion and to discuss appropriate topics and issues for policy changes. For the names(s) of the officials or your representative(s), see the RA Roster. Alternatively, you can call AOTA at 800-SAY-AOTA (729-2682), ext. 2103, to find out how to contact your representatives.
Remember: Deadline for Submissions is November 20, 2009
