Barry University, Miami Shores, FL, offers a full-time, weekend program leading to a master's degree in occupational therapy. The program is tailored for working adults, offering a blended curriculum of weekend classes and distance education. Classes are typically scheduled two weekends per month. Most students complete the program in 2½ years. Applicants may have a baccalaureate degree in any field, but those with a bachelor's degree in a health field are given noted consideration in the admissions process. Applications are due by April 1st with the new cohort starting in late August each year.

Brenau University, North Atlanta - Norcross Campus
Brenau University, North Atlanta-Norcross Campus, Norcross, GA, a weekend program based in Atlanta (Norcross), GA, invites applications from students with prior baccalaureate degrees, or exceptional students with at least 90 credit hours plus a higher GPA, who are seeking an entry-level MSOT. Students take an average of 12-13 hours per semester, meet "on ground" every other Friday evening and Saturdays. Substantial online work is required, plus periodic availability for Level I Fieldwork. Students are admitted in cohorts which start each January.

The University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), Monroe, LA, offers a full-time program advancing the OTA to MOT entry level by providing a distance learning experience using online courses plus one weekend a month on-campus coursework at ULM. Designed for the working COTA, students can complete the program in 2½ years. Applicants may have a baccalaureate degree in any field, as long as all pre-requisite coursework has been completed. Applications are due by May 1st with the new cohort starting in August each year.

Salem State University, Salem, MA, offers a flexible part-time evening program for OT assistants to earn a combined BS/MS degree in occupational therapy. Students will earn a bachelor of science degree in occupational health studies and an entry-level master of science degree in occupational therapy. The OT program was established in 1999.

Western New Mexico University
Western New Mexico University, Silver City, NM, advances the OTA to MOT entry level by providing a distance learning experience using online courses plus one weekend a month labs in New Mexico. Designed for the working individual, students may chose a full- or part-time track. Full-time students can complete the program in 2½ years; part-time in 3½ years. New classes are admitted in the fall semester. In addition to the OTA associate’s degree, a bachelor's degree in any field is required for admission. For those students needing a bachelor's degree, WNMU offers a Bachelor of Arts in Rehabilitation on-line.

Dominican College, Orangeburg, NY, offers a weekend program for a combined BS/MS degree. Classes meet approximately every third weekend for 6 on-campus class sessions each trimester. The BS/MS track is tailored for OTAs and working adults and allows students to complete all academic coursework in 2 years or 6 trimesters for certified occupational therapy assistants (COTAs) and 7 trimesters for OTAs without certification. Students who are COTAs transitioning to OTR begin the professional curriculum in January with previous occupational therapy assistant coursework accepted as prerequisites. Students who are OTAs without certification begin coursework in September. Students can also work toward a combined bachelor of arts in social science and BS/MS in occupational therapy using a combination of weekend, evening, online, and accelerated courses for the social science prerequisites.

Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, NY, offers a BS in health sciences and an MS weekend program. The BS in health sciences includes all prerequisites for the OT program and can be taken on a flexible part-time schedule. The MS program meets every other weekend, 8 weekends per trimester, for 2 years.

Cabarrus College of Health Sciences
Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, Concord, NC, offers a distance education program designed for working OTAs to progress to entry-level master's degree OTs. The academic curriculum includes both online courses and hybrid courses that meet on campus every third weekend. The program has two tracks: a combined BS in Interdisciplinary Health Studies/MOT track and a MOT track (for OTAs with a baccalaureate degree). The combined BS/MOT track is three years and the MOT track is two years including fieldwork.

New England Institute of Technology
New England Institute of Technology, East Greenwich, RI offers a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) for certified occupational therapy assistants with or without a bachelor’s degree. This program is designed to be a bridge for professionals to move to the next level of responsibility as registered occupational therapists. The program is offered in a weekend format that requires students to be on campus five (5) weekends in each ten-week academic quarter and to participate online during alternate weeks. A student following the MSOT program as outlined will complete the degree in ten (10) quarters.

Belmont University, Nashville TN, offers a weekend program leading to a master of science degree. The curriculum is delivered via a combination of distance technology and on-site sessions. On-site classes meet year-round approximately every third weekend. Computer use is required for distance coursework. Students can complete all program requirements including fieldwork in 22 months.

Texas Woman's University
Texas Woman's University, Denton, TX, offers an OTA-to-MOT bridging program for OTA's with a bachelor's degree in any field. This part-time distance learning program acknowledges the value of OTA coursework and work experience and adjusts the curriculum accordingly. Our unique program is designed for the working OTA. On campus classes meet on five Saturdays in both the Fall and Spring semesters. Summer classes are 100% on-line. The 3-year academic program is followed by 6 months of fieldwork. We admit a cohort of 15 students each fall.

Concordia University, Mequon, WI, offers a weekend program for OTAs that enables them to complete a bachelor of science degree in Rehabilitative Science (BSRS) and proceed to a master of occupational therapy degree (MOT). The teaching format is a combination of online and onsite weekend classes (a total of 29 weekends required). Students can complete both degrees in 12 semesters: fall, spring, and summer (including Level II fieldwork). This program is designed for employed OTAs.

Mount Mary University
Mount Mary University, Milwaukee, WI, will typically transfer 30 or more credits from an OTA program. Occupational therapy treatment and theory courses are block-scheduled for two full weekdays per week. Liberal arts courses may require attendance one additional day per week.
