The typical APP application review time is 8 to 12 weeks, with a response sent regarding status and/or request for clarification materials within 12 weeks of application receipt date. No guarantee is made regarding date of approval, as length of time varies depending on the quality and thoroughness of the application. All fees are nonrefundable.
Initial application fee - $650
Annual fees – (stratified by provider size and volume of OT learners) $475 - $1,125
Category 1 annual fee of $475 ($340 for State OT Associations only) includes
- State OT Associations (receive an additional 20% discount)
- Academic Institutions with ACOTE accredited OT/OTA programs
- Government or Military
- Providers with fewer than 500 OT learners/year*.
Category 2 annual fee of $675 includes
- Non-profit organizations with more than 500 OT learners/year*.
Category 3 annual fee of $800 includes
- For-profit organizations with 500-999 OT learners/year*.
Category 4 annual fee of $1,125 includes
- For-profit organizations with 1000 or more OT learners/year*.
Renewal Application Fee (every 4 years initially, then every 5 years) - $500
Expedited review application fee - $1,750 (rather than the $650 regular fee)
Expedited Review - AOTA's Approved Provider Program ensures that an expedited application is reviewed and a response is sent to the applicant within 3 weeks of the application receipt date. Any subsequent reviews of clarification materials are reviewed in 2 weeks.
An expedited application will get through the application review process within 3-6 weeks depending on the quality of the application. If an applicant selects an expedited review, no guarantee is made regarding date of approval, as length of time varies depending on the quality and thoroughness of the application. The expedited review application fee is $1,750.
Expedited Reviews will not be accepted two weeks before and during the AOTA annual conference each year and between December 15th and January 1st.
