Draft Blueprint for the Future of Education

Help us by giving us your opinion.

President Moyers-Cleveland appointed a committee to develop a blueprint that OT and OTA programs can use to continuously and dynamically ensure their educational offerings prepare students for the future.

Our premise:
Practitioners will need the knowledge to address not only the needs of people with chronic conditions and disabilities, but of those who are at risk for these health conditions and potential disabilities. Our knowledge is complex and bridges from impairments to community participation.

We hope to invoke thoughtful discussions about our body of knowledge.  When finalized, the blueprint will reflect a “group think” and should offer a guide to curriculum committees and faculty when deciding where threshold concepts and skills are placed in their curriculum.

In the resource section of this page you will find a copy of the draft Blueprint. In addition you will find a copy of the PowerPoint provided by the Committee at the conference in Houston that highlights the findings from our recent survey of stakeholders.

Thank you for being a part of this. Please discuss this survey and share it with as many clinicians, faculty, and students as you can. Feedback or questions can be directed to nharvison@aota.org.
